It is back to school at the Reference Multipurpose Youth Empowerment Centre’s (CMPJ-REF.YDE) headquarters in Madagascar, Yaounde with over 200 students of the Long Cycle present for day one, this September 11, 2023.
While classes kick off, some parents and guardians are still involved with late registration of children.
One of such parents CRTV Web met at the institution is Philippe N.
Over in classrooms, normal school life has resumed with teachers already dishing out lessons and students responding accordingly.
For many newcomers, the environment is interesting and they hope things get better when the practical sessions take off.
Fankam Binam, one of the newbies, is a little timid but says he’s ready to stand out academically.
The Head of the Centre, Pierre Dominique Mveme Atangana says the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou exhorted youth empowerment centres to start the new year with focus on consolidating acquired skills and innovation.
In this light, he held a meeting with his staff to insist on the Minister’s instructions.
Offers of the CMPJ-REF.YDE Madagascar Centre
The Madagascar centre of the CMPJ-REF.YDE offers fourteen fields of study in two cycles; the long and short cycle.
The short cycle offers training within three and twelve months, and resumes activities in October 2023.
On the other hand, the long cycle which resumed this September 11, 2023 spans over 48 months (four years).

The available fields of study at the centre include: Tailoring, automatic mechanics, carpentry, hotel and restaurant training, construction and public works, electricity / electronics, secretarial duties, secretarial accounting, driving, interior design, massage therapy, graphics designing, poultry farming and plumbing.
