Cameroonians have been called upon to take the COVID-19 vaccines especially as variants of the virus could get into the country with movements during the upcoming World Cup and end of year festivities.
Public Health Minister, Manaouda Malachie made this call as he launched the fifth round of the National Vaccination Campaign against COVID-19 on November 18, 2022. The campaign will end on November 27, 2022.
Target Population
This vaccination campaign targets everyone above 18 years in Cameroon especially the following:
– Those taking a booster dose
– Those who have never taken the vaccine
– Health workers
– Pregnant women
– Breastfeeding mothers
– Elderly persons
Where to Get the Vaccine
Minister Manaouda Malachie says during this vaccination campaign, teams will be on hand at various health facilities across the country to administer vaccines.
The vaccination teams will also visit churches, markets, administrative areas, mayors offices and other public spaces.
In order to ensure a successful campaign, the Public Health Boss calls on opinion leaders, heads of organisations and the media to educate and mobilise Cameroonians with regards to taking the vaccine.
The launch of this fifth vaccination camapign ended on a good footing with some people present getting a dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
