Newly promoted officials within the ranks of the defense forces from the December 28, 2022 presidential decree for the first semester of the 2023 budgetary year have been awarded insignias corresponding to their different ranks.
The ceremony chaired by Yves Landry Galax ETOGA, Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie took place at the Military Headquarters in Yaoundé this January 1, 2023.
The event which began at 10:00am pulled a great multitude of family and friends who turned out to support their loved ones.
Upon the arrival of the Secretary of State to the Minister of Defence in charge of the National Gendarmerie at the Military Brigade Headquarters in Yaoundé, the troops were reviewed and the national anthem was sung.
The newly promoted were called forward and a reading of the presidential decree promoting them was done.
Epaulets were fixed on their shoulders corresponding to their different ranks by senior officials in the armed forces.
A firm handshake sealed the event and the exercise repeated for other promoted officials.

A brief match military match past rounded up the ceremony giving room for family members to hug and share the moment with their loved ones, handing them bouquets of flowers and immortalizing the moment in photograph.
The newly promoted were elated for the recognition and mostly said it is a reward of hard work, discipline and patience.
