On 27 June 2023, Francis N’Gannou, the world heavyweight MMA champion, officially opened his sports complex dedicated to the martial arts.

You could say that Francis Ngannou’s new KO puts a smile on everyone’s face. Joy was on everyone’s face this 27 June 2023 with the inauguration of the Arena & academy sports complex of the MMA champion in the city of Douala. The centre will be an academy and training arena for the discipline that has taken Francis Ngannou to the top of the world, Mixed Martial Arts.
Built by PREMIER PROJECTS of Royal des Jeux Cameroun, the Francis N’Gannou Academy was properly inaugurated with 6 MMA exhibition bouts at 10am, to the delight of the many curious onlookers who came to appreciate a complex that, according to the owners, is of the highest international standard. The new MMA temple is located in Denver Bonamoussadi, at the Samuel Eto’o Residence entrance.
Francis Ngannou was present at this historic moment in the development of MMA in Cameroon, and was reassuring for the future of fans of the discipline in Cameroon. “With this hall, they will be able to have appropriate training and events that will enable them to acquire experience to meet international standards,” said the native of Batié at a press conference on Tuesday. Francis Ngannou is still preparing for his eagerly-awaited duel with Jon Jones. They recently warmed up in Atlanta.
