
The Prime Minister – Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute has called on stakeholders to speed up initiatives to modernise texts governing the management and payment of retirement benefits in Cameroon.
He made the call in Yaounde this Thursday April 27, 2023 while chairing the cabinet meeting for the month of April.
The session was dedicated to the examination of the situation and the management of pension dues in Cameroon. It also scrutinised the riposte against ongoing health pandemics in Cameroon.
An assessment of the situation prevailing indicates Cameroonians labour a lifetime for the state and for the private sector only to be surprised after retirement by all sorts of problems and technicalities which prevent them from fully enjoying their pensions.
The sorry situation under scrutiny on the eve of the 137th International Labour day found positive prospects from the cabinet meeting.

The Minister of Labour and Social Security, Grégoire Owona and the Minister of The Public Service and Administrative Reform, Joseph Le said the poor conservation of archives, obsolete texts, the improper follow up of careers are some of the reasons which cause delays and blockages to the payment of retirement benefits to some retired persons.
They, however outlined efforts made towards digitalizing procedures at the national social insurance fund and other services are helping to address the issue.
The Minister of The Public Service and Administrative Reform, Joseph Le equally say a revision of the texts governing the management of pensions is necessary to address some problems.
The Minister of Public Health, Manaouda Malachie, indicated that Cameroon’s riposte mechanism against diseases os producing positive results and surveillance has been intensified in the Region torched by the resurgence of cholera.
The Prime Minister – Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute at the end called for an acceleration of procedures to digitalisation and modernise procedures and texts governing retirement in. the country.
He also gave instructions for a strict surveillance of the health situation in the country.
