At his first attempt at his country’s top job, Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu grabbed the votes required to become Nigeria’s 17th President.
The season accountant and politician is current Senator of Lagos Central District.
He was the 12th Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.
During his eight year tenure, Tinubu multiplied housing units and invested heavily in education.
The President Elect is among Nigerian politicians who created a mega opposition party, the All Progressives Party by merging different opposition parties.
The APC party brought President Muhammadu Buhari to power and has now produced a second President.
The king maker is a nickname for Tinubu because of his support for outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari to win two terms in office, in 2015 and 2019. He is also said to have chosen almost every winning candidate in Nigeria since 2007.
He decided to take his turn and voters gave him their support.
Born in March 1952 in Lagos, Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu is an accountant trained in the University of Chicago, United States of America.
He join politics in 1992 as member of the people’s faction of the Social Democratic party.
He since climbed different stages of the political ladder reaching his summit this March 1, 2023 when he was declared winner of the election and consequently President Elect of Africa’s most populous nation.
